Blog assignment #12

I can honestly say that Creative Writing has been one of my favorite courses i have taken at Rutgers University.  Having an amazing teacher to teach me how to think in a more creative and unique way was just a bonus.  This class has taught me to nurture and care for my creative side because it is capable of producing amazing ideas and creative concepts.  Over the course of this class i would say i put in a lot of effort into all of my assignments and really shined in class.  I found myself always having an extreme interest in the topics discussed in class and really wanted to participate in all discussions.  This class taught me to not be afraid of technology as it can only aid you in expressing your ideas in a new and innovative way.  I would have never thought i would have such an interest in podcasts until i actually made my first one.  I envisioned myself in a different world where my mind had no limits and i was free to think as wild as i wanted to.  I can confidently say i am above proficient in multimedia platforms such as garageband and iMovie.  As well as have the knowledge to create and develop a personal blog.  I can take all of these lessons learned in Creative Writing and apply them to real world challenges.  The next time a job needs an assignment done, i now have the skill set to think about situations and solutions to questions in a new and creative way.  Something i would really like to learn in the future is animation.  I have always had an interest in animation and adding voice overs through garageband would further my knowledge from podcasts.  Animation would give my huge imagination form and that would be an amazing thing to see.  I am majoring in Sport Management and have a focus in Marketing and Facilities Management.  With the knowledge from Creative Writing i can implement new and creative ways to market to a specific fields and audiences with podcasts or videos.  The most important thing i can take away from this class and implement in the real world is my ability to think creatively and to remember to always speak the truth.  I will always remember my first podcast "The Robbery" and always remember how i won 1st place in the class. lol

    Dear Brandon,

    I'm glad that you enjoyed the class, and I hope you will continue to use at least some of these skills as you continue on. I personally find writing to be an excellent way to organize my thoughts whenever I'm unsure or confused--it's a good outlet to have on hand. You should pursue your interest in animation. So many of these technical skills, which we've only really skimmed the surface of, are becoming more valuable in the job market. For you, it could mean that you start offering a weekly blog post about health, or even tutorials about safe ways to exercise. I was glad to have you in class, and I look forward to seeing your final video. Who knows, you could take first place again...
